Summary

Distinct Features

The Landing Pod is defined by one-way urgency. It exists for situations where getting down matters more than leaving cleanly.

Its ablative shell, impact cradle, beacon package, and hatch-cutter system create a clear post-drop signature. Investigators can often reconstruct trajectory, occupant count, and impact stress from the wrecked shell.

The pod has almost no flexibility after launch. Scattered landing, anti-drop fire, beacon loss, and post-impact immobility are not edge cases; they are central to how the system should be understood.

Operational Profile

Landing pod deployment usually means the normal route has failed or is too dangerous. The pod can bypass perimeter defenses, blocked docks, and hostile airspace, but it cannot promise a good landing.
