Overview

The Missile is a compact guided explosive projectile integrated with an arm-cannon platform. It occupies the space between a direct beam and a heavy placed charge: the operator can deliver a concentrated burst of stored force to a distant hardened target without entering the immediate breach volume. Its impact creates pressure, fragmentation, and structural shock that a standard beam may not provide.

Guidance is the second defining feature. When a compatible targeting system maintains a lock, the round can track a moving return instead of relying solely on a straight launch path. That makes the Missile useful against mobile armor, exposed weak points, or evasive machinery, but it also makes sensor quality and line-of-sight maintenance part of the weapon operation.

The weapon remains limited by its physical reserve. Each launch consumes a live round, and a series of shots can quickly trade long-route endurance for short-term breach force. This is why the Missile must be treated as ordnance management, not as an inexhaustible upgrade to the default beam architecture.

Guidance And Impact Behavior

A locked Missile uses the target display to seek its assigned return. The guidance function improves the chance of striking a moving object, but it cannot retain a solution through total cover, severe sensor clutter, or a target that leaves the usable launch geometry. In those cases the launcher remains an explosive projectile system, not a self-correcting answer to an unknown trajectory. A lock is a brief managed state, not a permanent sensor claim.

At impact, the round delivers a focused explosive event. The useful result can be a breached plate, a cleared obstruction, or damage within an armored body. The risk is that impulse continues past the first layer: secondary fragments, shock through support struts, and damage to an enclosed system are all foreseeable effects that a field operator must plan around.

Hard-Target Role

Missiles are best reserved for targets that resist ordinary direct energy or require a physical breach. A sealed access layer, hard mineral composite, or armored component may need a sudden force pulse rather than gradual thermal change. This makes the weapon especially useful when a route cannot be opened safely by close placement with the Bomb system.

The round can also support an arm-cannon charge architecture. The Charge Beam stores energy in the same broad weapon platform, and certain composite armaments draw on both a charge state and missile reserve. That shared infrastructure is important: a Missile is not isolated hardware bolted onto a suit, but part of a coordinated targeting and energy environment.

Resource And Family Limits

The primary limitation is ammunition reserve. A missile launch is a deliberate use of carried ordnance, so an operator must preserve enough rounds for a later lock, breach, or emergency withdrawal. The Seeker Missile extends this same reserve into a multi-lock system, increasing target coverage while increasing the cost of poor target selection.

The Super Missile and Power Bomb are higher-commitment members of the same broad family, but they solve different scale problems. A Super Missile concentrates a heavier strike into one target. A Power Bomb changes an entire nearby volume. The standard Missile remains the practical choice when a single precise remote breach is the required result.
