Blindfly is a Ferenia-associated, Ply-type aerial organism documented during the later X contamination of ZDR. Its basic body plan remains close to the local Ply: a small flying frame, agile course changes, and a barbed tail used in a direct charging approach. The altered coloration and head structure make it a separate field record rather than a simple colour variation.

The visible differences are concentrated at the front of the body. Blindfly has a reddish body, purple wings, and dark red tissue where the Ply's prominent eye structure would normally be expected. The archive uses the name Blindfly descriptively, but no recovered observation establishes whether vision is absent, diminished, or replaced by another sensory process.

Its value as a record lies in that unresolved combination of continuity and change. It moves with the recognizable agility of a Ply while appearing in a contamination context that also produced altered forms such as Goliath. The organism must be assessed as an altered ZDR aerial form, not an invented cave specialist.

Morphology And Altered State

Blindfly retains the small, winged outline and tail architecture that connect it to Ply records, but its color distribution and transformed head tissue are sufficiently distinct to support a separate designation. Those external traits are the strongest current evidence; they should not be expanded into unsupported claims about internal anatomy or sensory replacement.

The association with the X-contamination period is observational rather than explanatory. X activity can preserve a host's broad form while changing its condition and behavior in ways that are not evident from silhouette alone. Comparative specimens from Ferenia and earlier Ply populations would be required to make a stronger biological claim.

Ferenia Observation Context

Ferenia's enclosed sanctuary structures and layered routes make brief, agile flight difficult to follow once sight is broken. Blindfly observations should therefore log wing coloration, head tissue, route height, and whether other altered organisms are present, rather than relying on a name or a single pass through a corridor.
