Draygon is the sole reproducing member of the Evir species on Zebes and functions as a queen caste. All observed Evirs in the local population are identified as her offspring. This makes the record less a single-animal profile than the center of a reproductive system extending through drones, attendants, eggs, and lair maintenance.

Unlike many hive queens, Draygon is not immobile or dependent on weaker workers for defense. She is by far the most dangerous Evir, protected by massive glycoprotein armor and capable of high-speed aquatic movement. Her role combines reproductive center, lair apex, and direct predator. The lair therefore functions as an organized brood system rather than a simple predator den.

The old source emphasizes that Evir drones capture prey alive and bring it to Draygon's lair. This behavior makes the chamber a feeding site, nursery, and social center. Draygon's ecology cannot be separated from the drones and attendant caste that support her reproduction. Anatomy And Physiology

Draygon's body is enormous relative to ordinary Evir drones and covered by thick glycoprotein armor. Most of the body forms a heavy protective shell, while the tail is jointed for movement and striking. The belly armor is thinner than the shell but remains too strong for ordinary Maridian predators to exploit.

Movement is controlled by jets of water rather than tail propulsion. This shared Evir trait allows sudden high-speed movement through aquatic space despite the weight of the shell. The legs are used to hold ensnared prey, turning the body into a feeding clamp once adhesive has immobilized the target. Together, these features let the queen feed directly while remaining anchored to a broader caste system.

The adhesive system is chemically sophisticated. Draygon spits a polymerizing adhesive that is extremely difficult for prey to escape, then grabs the immobilized body and strikes with the tail. The lair's surrounding range includes drone hunting routes and the spaces maintained by Draygon Larvae. Drones expand the queen's feeding reach by delivering prey she does not hunt personally. Attendants keep the chamber functional, clean the queen, and care for eggs, making the habitat an organized caste system rather than a simple den.

Field evidence should include adhesive residue, water-jet scoring, eggs, attendant movement paths, delivered prey remains, and armor contact marks along chamber surfaces. Because the queen does not do her own hunting, prey remains in the lair may reflect drone territory more than Draygon's personal movement range. Behavior And Ecology

Draygon does not normally hunt for herself. Evir drones capture live prey and bring it to her lair, where she may manipulate or play with prey before killing and feeding.
