The Namihe is an entirely stationary adult predator native to Zebes, built around the ecological value of a single well-chosen corridor corner. The old archive describes larvae as small lizard-like animals that quickly anchor themselves at blind bends in important connecting passages. Once anchoring is complete, the adult body can no longer be moved without destroying the organism or the supporting surface.

Adult form is extreme specialization rather than simple reduction. As the Namihe grows, the body is absorbed into the head until the visible animal is mostly eyes, teeth, armored cranial mass, throat structures, and a long prey-retrieving tongue. Its position lets it control traffic through a passage while investing almost nothing in locomotion, pursuit, or territorial patrol beyond the fixed arc of its mouth and vision.

The species kills with superheated plasma rather than by waiting for direct contact. Any living target entering the adult's field of view may trigger repeated oral discharge until movement stops.
