The robot does not roam through the ruin at random. When no intrusion is present, it hovers in place with a small vertical rise and fall. That limited response identifies a narrow original role: keeping a particular chamber under repeating interception coverage.

The weapon system is simple and physical. The Shirk rams targets with its sharp nails rather than using a broad beam or explosive device.
