The Echo Visor is a Luminoth acoustic-perception system associated with Aether. It translates sound-wave returns into a monochrome false-color representation, allowing an operator to locate sound-emitting objects and creatures that may not be available to ordinary optical observation.
This is not a replacement for sight. The system builds an acoustic layer from emitted and reflected sound, so the result depends on a useful return path. It is particularly valuable when smoke, darkness, or concealment limits visual inspection, while remaining less useful when an object does not produce or return a meaningful acoustic signature.
The Echo Visor also has a documented relationship to sonic-based Luminoth security and weapon systems. Acoustic Mapping And Limits
