This makes a Leviathan fundamentally different from an inert fragment of space debris. The impact is not the end of the event; it is the arrival phase of a self-sustaining contamination system. The shell can survive extreme transit forces, the interior can adapt to local conditions, and guardian tissue or associated defenses can emerge where the organism needs to protect its core. Elysia offers a useful illustration of the broader danger because an artificial world can be compromised through the same core-driven logic as a natural one. The Elysia record shows that no simple distinction between organic planet and engineered installation eliminates the threat. A Leviathan studies the host's systems and turns their dependencies into paths for its own survival.
